From the streets
of Barcelona
of Barcelona
rE is a unique collection of furniture/art pieces created by Gaston Gil using abandoned items and reclaimed wood found in the streets of Barcelona.
Heraclitus, a Greek philosopher born in 544 b.c. said, "No man ever steps in the same river twice, for it’s not the same river and he’s not the same man."
The only constant is change, and only by embracing change you can really appreciate the beauty of life.
Objects which were once a tree, then a cut piece of wood, then a chair, table or cabinet, and ended up discarded, were given a second chance by the love of an artist, who injected new life into them.
rE is a collection of objects born from others with a different function.
They all speak about change, a second chance, a new life.
As Gastón said in the documentary about rE, shot by Paco Ruiz, Marc Llusià and Charis Varelias in 2014 (below): "everyone deserves a second chance"
Although not exhaustive, we have collected a few images of some of the pieces created by Gaston Gil as part of this collection.
